Digital Analytics Consultant - Freelance - £40 per hour - Flexible Engagement
We are looking for an experienced Digital Analytics Consultant to support a range of client projects, helping organisations get more value from their analytics and marketing data.
This is a flexible, project-based engagement with no fixed monthly commitment. Work will be agreed per project or workstream, with defined deliverables and timelines. The level of involvement may vary depending on active client demand, with some periods lighter and others more intensive. We are looking for someone who is comfortable scaling their time accordingly and managing their own availability.
You will be engaged to deliver analytics projects across the full lifecycle, from implementation and data collection through to insight generation and stakeholder reporting.
The engagement
You will lead and deliver analytics workstreams across web and app environments, supporting clients in understanding how their digital channels and marketing activity are performing.
Typical project deliverables may include auditing and developing measurement frameworks, implementing and configuring tag management solutions, ensuring compliance-ready data collection, and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
You will work independently across multiple client projects, bringing structure, ownership, and a proactive approach to each engagement. You will have autonomy over how services are delivered, working to agreed outcomes rather than fixed hours or direct supervision.
What you will be delivering
Implementation and maintenance of analytics tracking via Google Tag Manager and GA4, including event taxonomies, dataLayer design, and custom dimensions
Auditing and development of Adobe Analytics implementations, including report suite configuration, eVar and prop mapping, and processing rules
Configuration and management of data collection via Adobe Experience Platform and Adobe Data Collection
Delivery of consent-aware tracking in line with Google Consent Mode v2 and platforms such as OneTrust
Analysis of web, app, and marketing performance data to produce clear insights and recommendations
Support for integrating CRM and marketing automation data into analytics workflows where required
Clear communication of findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior audiences

Technical skills
Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, including server-side tagging where possible
Familiarity with JavaScript for tracking implementation and debugging
Working knowledge of Adobe Analytics and Adobe Experience Cloud, including Adobe Data Collection
Good understanding of consent management platforms such as OneTrust and practical experience with Google Consent Mode v2
Strong grasp of GDPR and related data legislation within a digital analytics context
Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and CRM systems is desirable
Exposure to optimisation or product analytics tools such as Optimizely, Adobe Target, Amplitude, or Mixpanel is desirable
